Upon his return to the San Francisco area from the Alaska gold rush, Jack London began to write about his experiences. London's colorful life, during which he wrote more than 50 books, including his masterpiece, The Call of the wild, and which included experience as a war correspondent, and two stormy marriages, ended in his suicide at the age of 40. The program presents London's life story, examines the social and political events which influenced his work, and includes commentary, archival documents and rare interviews. |
