Summary |
Jonathan, the black sheep of a well-to-do family, is finally coming home. His cancer-stricken father, Robert, has announced he's ending his life in less than 48 hours. At first confused, angry and remote, Jonathan eventually sees the barriers he has set up to cope with the imagined disappointment from his estranged family, including his fragile mother, and seemingly successful sister. A chance encounter with his old girlfriend, now engaged to another man, leads him to further contemplate the choices he's made. As he sorts through his conflicted feelings and opens up to his father, he exposes the great love that has been hidden by regret and expectations. Despite his sorrow, Jonathan finds new strength and purpose in becoming the man his father knew he could be. |
