Summary A series investigating the downfall of Ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom and the rise and fall of Angkor's Kingdom in Cambodia. What chain of events and long-term processes have contributed to their downfall until their final collapse? New answers are being meticulously sought out by archaeologists on the very sites where these civilizations once thrived. Each film unfolds as a series of enigmas being gradually resolved by the new evidence brought to light. The causes are many and at times uncomfortably familiar with issues our world faces today: drastic and sudden climate change, spiritual and religious crises, and political upheaval.
Language note In English.
